Halloween Handmade Card

After switching gears from Halloween Treat favors to make a few cards for the teacher door prize, I decided I would combine the best of both worlds. This is the first of a few Halloween cards that could be used for invitations or to send to friends and family for Halloween.

To make this project you will need the following supplies:

Close To My Heart Creepy Cobwebs My Acrylic Stamp Set (D1319)
Autumn Terracotta, Grey Flannel and Black card stock sheets
Black (Z2105) and Grey Flannel (Z2124) Exclusive Inks stamp pads
Black Waxy Flax (Z1089)
Edge distresser, sanding block and piercing tool.
Spiderweb embossing folder or template

This card is a standard 4.25" x 5.5" invitation size. Start by embossing the black card stock using the spiderweb template. Lightly sand the raised surfaces of the spiderweb. (I am so in love the CTMH white core black card stock) Stamp spider on string and trim. Stamp "Boo" and ink the edges with Grey Flannel ink. Cut and edge distress Grey Flannel and Autumn Terracotta card stock. Pierce holes in Autumn Terracotta card stock. String and knot the black waxy flax through the holes in the Autumn Terracotta card stock. Adhere to card base and mail to friends and family!

More To Adore & Sweet Home Handmade Cards

Now that the school year is in full swing, the volunteer opportunities are starting to pop up in my inbox. I love being on the PTO Hospitality Team for my son's elementary school. We get to make all kinds of treats for our amazing teachers. The first luncheon of the year is now being planned and I am providing a door prize instead of food. I have put together a set of handmade cards for a door prize for the luncheon. The cards are quick and easy and I have yet to meet a teacher that could not use a stack of Thank You cards! Does it get any better than doing what you love and loving why you are doing it?

There are two different cards in this assortment. One is done with the More To Adore Paper and the second is with the new, Sweet Home paper packet. Both cards are the standard 4.25" x 5.5" invitation size. In addition to the paper packets listed, the cards also showcase brads, ribbon and stamping with the "Thank You" (D1361) stamp set. The Thank You stamp set is definitely one of the most used stamp sets in my collection.

Halloween Party Favor Treat Box - Coffin

I'm starting to feel the excitement in the air as the fall holidays approach. I love Halloween. Yes, the super cute kids in their costumes are amazing, the candy is a perk, but all of the decorations, inside the house and out, are my favorite. I'm itching to break out the fake spiders and spiderwebs for my porch and "bury" Mr. Bones in the front tree bed.

It's true, I have been known to enjoy some of my children's trick or treat candy. My husband usually finishes a few bags before the big day and I have to restock! I've found myself now challenged to find great ways to package and display the treats for the many school parties that will be here soon. Over the next week, I will be posting a few of my ideas and translation of traditional Halloween treat bags and favors.

The first in the series is the Coffin Party Favor box pictured above. You will need the following supplies to complete this craft:

Coffin Template
Scissors
Adhesive
Craft Heater (Z555)
Bone Folder (Z1204)
(1 ea.) sheet of Black and Orange card stock
Close To My Heart BEWARE Acrylic Stamp Set (D1381)
VersaMark Ink Pad (Z891)
Close To My Heart SILVER PEARL Embossing Powder (Z678)

Adhere together Orange and Black card stock. Cut and score and assemble card stock per the template design. Stamp "trick or treat" with VersaMark Ink onto the coffin top. Cover stamped image with embossing powder and heat to set. Fill with treats and share with friends, family, classmates and don't forget the ever important teacher favors!
